What is the V.S.E. program?
V.S.E. stands for Voluntary Self Exclusion. It is a ‘Player Protection’ program offered in all Saskatchewan Casinos, SaskGaming & SIGA. Once enrolled you have effectively banned yourself from all Saskatchewan Casinos for a pre-determined amount of time.
V.S.E’s can be completed on casino grounds OR you may request an appointment off the casino premises. Please check which casino belongs to which operator, then select either SaskGaming or SIGA from the menu. Once you’ve excluded yourself from one casino, your information will be shared to the other casinos in Saskatchewan.

Signs of Problem Gambling
Emotional, physical, and financial health and status can be affected by problem gambling. Rather than how much or how often someone gambles, a more accurate predictor of problem gambling may be a person’s expectations, emotions and behaviour about gambling.
Gambling may be a problem when a person:
- Is unable to follow limits on time or money spent gambling
- Continues to gamble despite the negative consequences
- Misses work or other important events
- Tries to win back money which they have lost
- Has failed attempts to limit or stop gambling
- Experiences harms to his or her overall health, including feelings of anxiety, depression or suicidal ideations
Interested in learning more? Our BLOG SERIES explores problem gambling as well as other related topics in more detail.
In the fall of 2021, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction released the Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines to show those who gamble how to lower the risks and harms associated with the activity. We are proud to distribute the LRGG materials as a way to educate and prevent further harm associated with gambling within our Saskatchewan community.
