The Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline

The SPGH should always be thought of as your first line of defense. The SPGH’s staff are well trained, and the helpline is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Helpline staff are able to access translation services, for a crisis situation, in 155 languages. This service is available via phone or email. Every call, text, email, or live chat is FREE, confidential, and completely non-judgmental.

Self-Exclusion

  • What is the V.S.E. program?
    V.S.E. stands for Voluntary Self Exclusion. It is a ‘Player Protection’ program offered in all Saskatchewan Casinos, SaskGaming & SIGA.

    Once enrolled you have effectively banned yourself from all Saskatchewan Casinos for a pre-determined amount of time.

    V.S.E’s can be completed on casino grounds OR you may request an appointment off the casino premises. Please check which casino belongs to which operator, then select either SaskGaming or SIGA from the menu. Once you’ve excluded yourself from one casino, your information will be shared to the other casinos in Saskatchewan.

    *Please note that VSE’s can’t protect against the VLT network*

Signs of Problem Gambling

Emotional, physical, and financial health and status can be affected by problem gambling. Rather than how much or how often someone gambles, a more accurate predictor of problem gambling may be a person’s expectations, emotions and behaviour about gambling.

In the fall of 2021, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction released the Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines to show those who gamble how to lower the risks and harms associated with the activity. We are proud to distribute the LRGG materials as a way to educate and prevent further harm associated with gambling within our Saskatchewan community.
