BounceBack for Youth: Reclaim Your Health

Feeling low, stressed or anxious?

BounceBack® is a free skill-building program from the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Saskatchewan Division designed to help youth age 15 and older manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. It’s common to feel low, stressed out, worried, depressed, irritable, angry or nothing at all. With the right tools and practice, you can reclaim your mental health. You have the power to make positive changes, and we are here to help.

With BounceBack®, you’ll have access to a trained coach and skill-building workbooks that can be selected to fit your needs.

It is estimated that 10-20% of Canadian Youth are affected by a mental illness or disorder – the single most disabling group of disorders worldwide

BounceBack Coaching

BounceBack Coaching offers low-intensity, highly accessible telephone-guided, Cognitive-Behavioural self-directed with written workbooks. The duration of the program is approximately 2-3 months and a maximum of six guided sessions.

Healthy emotional and social development lay the foundation for mental health and resilience in childhood and throughout life
Mental Health Commission of Canada (2012)

Working Together for Change: A 10 Year Mental Health and Addictions Action Plan for Saskatchewan strongly recommends a focus on prevention and early
intervention as it is important to provide our youth with the tools and skillset to navigate their own experiences of mental health to live happier and healthier lives.

Once depression is recognized, help can make a difference for 80% of people who are affected, allowing them to get back to their regular activities.

Workbook Contents

The workbooks are used in conjunction with virtual or telephone coaching to maximize their benefits. Whereas participants are responsible to work through the materials, coaches are available to motivate and monitor their progress. Most importantly, the modules in the workbooks are independent, and the program as a whole is customizable. Participants confer with their coaches early in the program to choose which modules to focus on so that the program is tailored to their particular needs.
